Colorado River Update: The Lake Powell Pipeline, Salida Event, and Patagonia!

Hi Friends of the Colorado River!

We are racing into 2020 and here’s your Winter Solstice Update:

First the Lake Powell Pipeline — a massive proposed Colorado River-destroying pipeline in Southwest Utah — is accepting comments from the public. Right after the New Year, we will send an email to you for how to submit comments, along with some suggested talking points. The deadline for comments is January 10th, so stay tuned for how to Take Action!

Second, our Salida, Colorado, event last week was a great success! Nearly a hundred people showed up at the Steamplant Theater on the banks of the Arkansas River on a very cold Salida night. We watched three short videos and had a great conversation about stopping the proposed “Homestake II” project on the upper branches of the Eagle River. In addition, we talked about climate change and tearing down Glen Canyon Dam. Stay tuned for more events in 2020!

Third, our most wonderful friends at Patagonia are still processing donations for Save The Colorado. We are working hard to keep this river alive and stop all proposed dams and diversions.

You can donate at this link on Patagonia’s website and they will process the donation and send it to us: http://savethecoloradopatagonia.org/

Thank you for your support!

Gary Wockner, Director, Save The Colorado
