Colorado’s Governor Hickenlooper Fails Again on Climate Change

Governor Hickenlooper recently released his “Legislative Climate Update“. Lots of ‘stuff’ in here, but more importantly:

• It completely fails because it does not calculate greenhouse gas emissions, which earlier reports indicate are rising and everyone assumes are rising (due to population growth and fracking, primarily).
• The report brags about the Governor endorsing two new water projects that would further drain and destroy the Upper Colorado River (Windy Gap Firming Project and Moffat Collection System Project). At the same time that climate change scientists indicate that the Colorado River is losing water due to climate change, and will likely face a “megadrought”, Hickenlooper is counting his support for further draining the river as a climate success story.
