Hi Friends — Let’s Go Rafting!

There’ a historic snowpack and rafting season in the Green River watershed this year! And, our great friends at O.A.R.S. Adventure Travel are offering an exclusive raft trip for Save The Colorado friends and supporters in Desolation Canyon on the Green River in Utah!

This 6-day trip is a fundraiser for Save The Colorado and will support our work to protect and restore the Colorado River and its tributaries throughout the Southwest U.S.

Dates: Sept 3rd – Sept 8th, 2017

Far from desolate, the towering red rock walls in Desolation Canyon hide petroglyphs, Native American ruins and abandoned homesteads for the adventurous to rediscover.  Enjoy the shade of the Cottonwood tree groves, relax on big sandy beaches, and spot the eagles and bighorn sheep that inhabit this river corridor. Over the 84-mile stretch of river, we’ll encounter more than 50 splashy Class II-III rapids along with peaceful stretches, perfect for contemplation, paddling an inflatable kayak, or trying out a stand up paddleboard, making it an entertaining choice for travelers of all ages and experience levels.

Gary Wockner (Director and co-founder of Save the Colorado) will be speaking on the trip about Save The Colorado’s work to protect and restore the Colorado River. Gary is the author of the 2016 book, RIVER WARRIOR: Fighting to Protect the World’s Rivers, a free copy of which will be given to each of you, as well as a free Save The Colorado t-shirt.
